Elistair Equips Greece with 13 Tethered Drones to Fight Wildfires

Lyon, May 13, 2025 – Elistair, the French leader in the design and manufacturing of tethered drones for security applications, has announced the award of a major contract to supply 13 surveillance tethered drones to Greek company Terra Spatium. These systems will be integrated into Mobile Operations Centers (MOCs) for the Hellenic Fire Service.

This project is part of the European “Resilience and Recovery Fund” program, which aims to strengthen operational capabilities in response to major natural and technological disasters such as wildfires, floods, and earthquakes.

Each Mobile Operations Center will consist of two 4×4 vehicles equipped with cutting-edge technology: workstations, satellite communication systems, a lighting mast with electro-optical sensors, a weather station and an Elistair tethered drone. These solutions will provide Greek authorities with continuous and secure aerial intelligence, essential for the effective coordination of field operations.
