Our History

2014

Elistair is founded by Guilhem de Marliave and Timothée Penet and also wins the first prize of the alliance startup challenge in San Francisco.

2015

Elistair obtains its first patent for optimized power management technology. The same year the company delivers to Thales the world’s first tethered drone station.

2016

The US Army chooses Elistair solution for persistent security operations. In parallel, Securitas acquires Elistair tethered station for large events security.

2017

Elistair releases the Orion 1, first fully automated complete tethered drone system able to fly for 12h, and receives support from the French procurement agency for its further development.

2018

Elistair products are now deployed in 50 countries across the globe. In France, Paris Police uses the Orion for continuous overwatch during the Ryder cup, one of the biggest international sport competition.

2019

The UK Ministry of Defence selects the Orion as an ISR solution for the Royal Marines. On the same year, Elistair stations are used during the Superbowl in Atlanta for broadcasting and crowd monitoring.

2020

Elistair opens offices in Boston to strengthen its presence in the US, its primary market. Around the same time Elistair releases the Orion 2 with an increased endurance of 50h, and partners with the United Nations World Food Program for disaster recovery.

2021

Elistair raises 7 million euros in series B funding with Omnes Capital to accelerate its international expansion. In the meantime, the company opens an office in Abidjan, Ivory Coast in West Africa.

2022

The Orion 2.1 endures its first flight of 50 hours without interruption. On the same year, Elistair passes the milestone of 1000 products sold worldwide for defense and security operations.

2023

Elistair unveils KHRONOS push-button tethered drone for tactical ISR missions. Deployed from a transportable dronebox in under two minutes, KHRONOS can operate from both fixed and mobile platforms with minimal human input.

2024

Elistair has relocated to a new facility of 1,600 m², including a 600 m² area dedicated to production. These expanded premises are designed to meet our growing operational needs and support our ongoing development.
